GeoSim Technologies has continued to expand its custom simulation capability with the development of a Cessna 208 Caravan multifunction simulator, destined for a customer in Africa and designed to support a wide range of pilot, emergency and mission-specific training requirements.
But there is another story behind the simulator.
Over more than two decades of building custom flight simulators, GeoSim has developed a rapid prototyping approach that allows us to accurately reproduce the dimensions, layout and feel of an aircraft cockpit without requiring a donor aircraft to be taken out of service for lengthy moulding and tooling processes.
Using modern digital design and advanced manufacturing techniques, our team can move from aircraft information and customer requirements to a highly realistic, full-size training environment significantly faster and more economically than many traditional manufacturing methods.
Just as importantly, the process provides flexibility. The C208 can be configured around the customer’s actual aircraft, including different avionics, instrumentation, GPS systems and mission equipment, allowing one platform to support multiple training roles.
For operators, that means less disruption, greater customisation and a simulator that looks and feels like the aircraft their pilots actually fly.
