Train Without Risking the Aircraft
Operational aircraft are expensive assets and many of the most valuable training scenarios are also the scenarios operators least want to reproduce in the real aircraft.
Simulation allows crews to practise abnormal situations, emergency procedures and demanding mission scenarios without consuming fuel, adding aircraft hours or exposing personnel and equipment to unnecessary risk.
Quality Meets Affordability
GeoSim’s philosophy is to provide high-quality, operator-specific simulation without the cost traditionally associated with large full-flight simulators.
The GeoSim Bronco simulation device provides organisations with a dedicated training capability that can increase training availability while reducing dependence on operational aircraft.
More training. Less aircraft time. Less fuel. Less risk.
Custom Cockpit & Systems
The cockpit layout and instrument panel are designed to closely resemble the operational OV-10 Bronco.
GeoSim specialises in developing custom simulator solutions and can reproduce operator-specific:
- Instrument configurations
- Avionics
- Radios
- Navigation equipment
- Controls and switches
- Operational procedures
- Mission equipment
Custom Panels and Avionics
We can easily customise to your exact layout.
These include:
- Custom Gauge layouts
- Fire Drop Systems (Vondran/FRDS)
- Nav Radios (ie Bendix vs GNC255)
- GPS Units (GTN750/650, GNS530/430, TracMap, AgNav)
- And much much more!

Realistic Flight Model
The GeoSim Bronco uses X-Plane Professional as its underlying flight simulation platform, complemented by GeoSim-developed software, hardware interfaces and aircraft-specific systems.
The flight model and aircraft behaviour can be refined in conjunction with experienced OV-10 pilots to reproduce the handling characteristics and operational performance required for effective training.
Mission-Specific Training
Designed around the unique operational role of the OV-10 Bronco, the simulator enables crews to rehearse missions that are difficult, expensive or potentially hazardous to conduct repeatedly in the aircraft.
Training can include:
- Airborne observation and coordination
- Aerial firefighting support
- Low-level operations
- Mission procedures
- Navigation and communications
- Emergency procedures
- Pilot and observer coordination
Aerial Firefighting & Air Attack Training
The OV-10 has an important role in aerial firefighting operations as an observation and coordination platform.
GeoSim can configure training scenarios that allow crews to practise:
- Fire reconnaissance
- Air attack coordination
- Fire traffic-area procedures
- Tanker and helicopter coordination
- Communications with airborne and ground resources
- Identification of hazards
- Changing fire and weather conditions
- Mission decision-making
This allows procedures to be practised repeatedly without placing aircraft or crews at risk.
Multi-Aircraft Coordination
GeoSim simulators can be networked to create multi-aircraft training environments.
An OV-10 crew can therefore train alongside other simulated firefighting aircraft, allowing realistic rehearsal of coordinated aerial firefighting operations, communications and procedures.
This capability provides an opportunity to train the entire mission rather than simply the aircraft.
CAZ 110 Replica OV-10 Bronco Training Device
Developed by GeoSim Technologies, for Calfire this dual-cockpit training device is modelled on the OV-10 Bronco. The simulator provides a realistic platform for pilot and observer training, supporting both VFR and IFR operations as well as specialised mission and emergency training.
The cockpit and instrument panel arrangement closely replicate the operational aircraft, providing an effective environment for procedural, operational and crew-coordination training.
Pilot & Observer Crew Coordination
The OV-10’s effectiveness relies heavily on coordination between the pilot and observer. GeoSim’s dual-cockpit configuration allows both crew positions to train together, developing communication, workload management, situational awareness and operational procedures.
This is particularly valuable for high-workload missions where accurate communication between the aircraft crew and external assets is essential.
